How it started
"Wrong turn, right person."
A misread timetable at Edinburgh Waverley placed Sophia on the wrong platform — directly beside a bewildered Oliver who had missed the same train. A shared bench, a thermos of tea, and two hours of conversation later, they swapped numbers instead of platforms.
The years between
"Every trip made the distance shorter."
Edinburgh · Lisbon · The Algarve · Marrakech. Each stamp in the passport a chapter written together. The photo albums grew thicker; so did the certainty that this was permanent.
The proposal
"She said yes before the sentence ended."
A lavender field in Provence. A sunrise Oliver had been planning for six months. A ring hidden inside the poetry book she had wanted since university. Sophia laughed first, then cried, then said "obviously."
